This fantastic duo will play exquisite selections from the cello repertoire and their program includes composers Robert Schumann, Felix Mendelssohn, and Dmitri Shostakovich – fondly known as Shosti!  These performers are hugely popular with the local audience so get your tickets early!

A Sunday afternoon spent with the relaxing sounds of a solo classical guitar – we can’t think of a finer way to spend your time! Currently Stephen teaches at Oklahoma City University where he co-directs the Celedonio Romero Guitar Institute and leads a group of students on a performance tour in Madrid every summer. His concert features the music of Bach, Rodrigo, Hétu, and more!

Fri. Aug 16, 2019 – Michael Noble (piano) with Festival Quintet – 7:00 PM

New York based pianist Michael Noble will perform Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto with an exceptional group of local string players in a special edition of this piece arranged for piano and string quintet. The first half of the concert is string quartet music by Anton Webern and Felix Mendelssohn. This is a special concert not to be missed!  The string quintet is comprised of Samuel Tsui (violin), Takumi Taguchi (violin), Manti Poon (viola), Tawnya Popoff (viola), and Judy Lou (cello).

Sat. Aug 17, 2019 – Melody Yuan (violin) and Michael Noble (piano) – 7:00 PM

Melody Yuan is a young violinist who is taking the world by storm, stage by stage. Having completed her studies at the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music, she is thrilled to return home to Vancouver and give a recital of masterworks for the violin with pianist Michael Noble, a graduate of Yale University.

He won the Piano Excellence Scholarship Competition in 2018 at the age of 13!  This concert takes place at the Vancouver Academy of Music (1270 Chestnut Street).
